PRIVACY POLICY

This node runs on LinkStack, which is open source. It's self-hosted
by volunteers on a small server. No ads, no trackers, no analytics,
no third-party data sharing. This document explains the small amount
of data that exists and what happens to it.

1. WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?

Only what you give directly.

When you register: your email address and a password (hashed, not
stored in plain text).

When you use the node: your profile info — display name, bio, links
you add, avatar if you upload one — is stored so it can be shown on
your page.

Nothing else. No tracking pixels. No fingerprinting. No "sensitive
information" as defined by GDPR.

You're responsible for keeping your info accurate.

2. HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION USED?

Only to run the node:

  - Create and manage your account
  - Show your profile page
  - Let you log in
  - Prevent abuse (rate limiting, spam prevention)

That's it. Nothing is used for marketing, advertising, or profiling.

3. LEGAL BASES (EU / UK)

If you're in the EU or UK, the legal bases for processing your data
are:

  - Consent — you chose to create an account
  - Legal obligation — if required by law
  - Vital interests — in an emergency, to protect someone

You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Canada: similar, under PIPEDA. Express or implied consent, same
rights.

4. WHO SEES YOUR INFORMATION?

Nobody. No third parties, no advertisers, no data brokers, no law
enforcement unless legally compelled (and if that ever happens,
maintainers will fight it and tell you unless legally barred).

5. COOKIES

One session cookie, set when you log in. That's it. No analytics
cookies, no tracking cookies, no third-party cookies.

If you block cookies, you can't log in, but you can still view
public pages.

6. HOW LONG IS YOUR INFORMATION KEPT?

While your account exists. If you delete your account, your data is
deleted from active systems. Backups may retain copies for a short
period before rolling over.

7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

If you're in the EU, UK, Canada, or any jurisdiction with data
protection laws, you have the right to:

  - Access a copy of your data
  - Correct inaccurate data
  - Delete your data
  - Export your data
  - Object to processing

You can exercise most of these yourself by editing or deleting your
account. For anything else, contact the maintainers using the contact
info on the profile page.

8. DO-NOT-TRACK

This node doesn't track you, so DNT signals don't change anything.
Nothing to respond to.

9. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS

Under California law, you can request information about what personal
data has been shared with third parties for marketing. Nothing has
been shared, so the answer is "nothing." You can request confirmation
via the contact info on the profile page.

California residents under 18 can request removal of publicly posted
data. Same contact info.

10. UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top changes.
Material changes will be announced on the node.

11. CONTACT

See the contact section on the profile page of this node.
